January 2005:

Things are really moving now. We are in the middle of expanding the fencing store to include all kinds of equine supplies. The actual store is coming along nicely and was painted recently. The shelving is up and ready for products. We are expecting the rest of the inventory to arrive in the next week and we will start stocking the shelves (Beck is getting sick of having cases of Cowboy Magic and Healing Tree products in the living room). We are planning on opening February 19 and having a Grand Opening on March 19. We look forward to seeing our customers from the last couple of years and look forward to meeting new ones.

Well, its funny how things happen. My wife and children decided we need to have horses. My father-in-law and I were voted to construct the fence and barn rather quickly. After a bunch of research, we decided the best option was to use the polytape fencing. That is where our adventures began. We went to the local farm store and picked up a roll of tape to start the main paddock and quickly found out that one roll wouldn't get us far. After returning to the store, we were impressed when the clerk told us they were out of stock. We were told that they could order more and after 2-3 weeks, we returned to find out the tape they had received was different from what we already had strung. We went to all of the farm stores in a 30 mile radius and could come up with 3 rolls of tape and 6 corner brackets. So, it was back to square one. We found out who was the manufacturer of the fencing we already had, and contacted them. Their first sentence was you should be able to get it locally, actually at the store we had originally tried. After a short discussion, we decided we needed to sell the polytape and accessories, and Foster Hill Farm was born. Now, we have all kinds of Polytape, ropes and accessories that are needed to build this type of fence. We also have suppliers that can get us pretty much anything to do with any type of fencing.  To get information on our fencing prices, please go to the Fencing Price List.
